ABOUT OUR SCHOOL:
Assumption School is a pre-K 3 through eighth grade school, dedicated to educating young minds through academically challenging curricula with a focus on moral and spiritual values. Children are taught that education is far more than information; it is a way of life, a way to serve God, family and community, while growing in mind and spirit.
At Assumption, we endeavor to create an atmosphere in which the Gospel Message along with academic and cultural programs are integrated to form the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.
Rooted in the faith and tradition Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, will carry Catholic education forward in eastern Fairfield.
A faith based curriculum is the foundation for the school's academic excellence, complemented with state-of-the-art instructional technology as well as advanced science and math programming. Consistent with other Catholic schools in Fairfield County with US Department of Education Blue Ribbon designation, the new school's academic program will include curriculum mapping, differentiated instruction, and ongoing faculty professional development to ensure students continue to meet and exceed state proficiency tests in reading and math.
The school community will center itself each day on the teachings of Jesus Christ and will instill a strong sense of Gospel values, respect for each other as well as ourselves, and an appreciation for the world around us.
Our safe and secure learning environment will be housed on the beautiful grounds of Our Lady of the Assumption parish, nestled in a northeastern neighborhood of Fairfield.
Our student body is drawn from our area towns and communities. The majority of our students live in Fairfield, Easton and North Bridgeport.
